Limes, Apple and Orange

This is an Oil painting on stretched canvas approx: 12" x 16".

 

This still life was an experiment. I decided not to use my traditional approach to it's foundation, where I would have normally worked from an ochre drawing with a brush to form the content. I cut out a step and went directly to the background and then painted the foreground. This seemed to be a quicker method, until I was forced by my wife to move my model. Eventually i will set it up again and complete this piece. I really like where it's heading.
